If your chairman want to sign on several documents, you can file or you
cannot. The University can do nothing.

这些学校都是进去了一般都能开始办么？还是有时间限制？
这个确实跟系有关。不过有些学校估计把postdoc作为temporary position，不给申请
eb1b的。
大家再接再厉啊，这种也算是切身利益的事，讨论一下 |

我个人的经验是: 学校不重要,program也不重要.重要的是你的老板愿不愿意,有没有能
量, 支持你办.

我来贴一个USC的规定
OTHER FACULTY AND STAFF
USC will consider sponsoring non-teaching Faculty (including Research
Professors) and other Staff seeking USC sponsorship of permanent residence
where the hiring department supports the process and the situation meets the
following criteria:
1) Must have been employed at USC for two (2) years in H-1B, O-1, or other
working nonimmigrant status allowing “dual intent” (not “single intent”
status such as F-1, J-1, TN or OPT).
2) The department must be offering a full-time position. Part-time does not
qualify.
3) If a grant-funded position, the grant must exceed 4 years.
4) The individual must have no background issues that might disqualify them
from admission as an immigrant (immigration violations, felonies, etc.)
Signatures at the department level on these petitions/applications will
cause the government to deny such requests. If the university becomes aware
that an unauthorized petition/application is pending, we reserve the right
to withdraw it.

主要是老板支持, 系里和学校都是走行式的. 大一点的学校都有OIS(Office of
International Service),里面的 immigration specialist 是专办 H1 , PERM, EBIb
的专业人士, 这点大家都不知道吗.

Title: Research Associate (three year after Ph.D degree).
One can be promoted to Research Associate in less than three years if a
significant contribution has been made to his/her project and program he/she
belongs to. In addtion to this, the support from supervisor and department
chair are necessary to initiate the process.
It is safe to talk to your supervisor and hr about any immigration status
change before action. |
