東京大学は５日、米国の有力科学誌「セル」などに掲載された同大分子細胞生物学研
究所の加藤茂明教授らの論文に不正があったとの通報を学外から受け、調査を進めて
いることを明らかにした。加藤教授は論文執筆の責任を取り、３月末で辞職した。
同大によると、今年１月、加藤氏の関わった論文２４編に捏造(ねつぞう)や改ざん
の疑いがあるとの通報が、学外から郵送で寄せられた。通報に２４編の掲載時期や表
題が具体的に記されていたことなどを同大は重視し、科学研究行動規範委員会で、研
究データの捏造、改ざん、盗用といった研究不正の有無を視野に、通報翌日から調査
を始めた。加藤氏らは、「セル」に２００３年に掲載された論文について、「図表が
データを正確に表していない」として３月に取り下げていた。
同大は、同委員会の結論を待って、処分するかどうか決める。加藤氏は「すべて大
学側に判断をゆだねており、現在はコメントすることはできない」と話している。

学省、学術振興会、科学技術振興機構より支出されております。
従いまして、本事件は重要な国民的関心を持たれるべきものだと我々は考えます。
また、最高学府たる大学の使命には学問の進歩に寄与することがあるものと考えます
し、その上に健全な競争があり公正な雇用があるものと我々は考えます。それらのこ
