发帖数: 2041 | 2 First, if you are not a big bull or have political connection don't even
waste your time. P grants are PROJECT grants usually focus on similar
research that requires multiple PIs. U grants are more fitted into
translational grants, U01s usually involve basic science researchers and
physicians. U grant can also be a core service grant such as tissue
depository etc. My former PI has a U grant, you dont' want to know how much
politic is involved. I was one of the investigators in a P grant and it is
very political even after reviews i.e. if you don't fund us, our
congressman will cut your budget even more.
One of the faculties hired the same year as I did tried a U grant, I was to
embrassed to tell him that he is either crazy or stupid. The grant didn't
even get reviewed. He just about to be fired because he also has not R01
either.
