It has a very good committee to give good suggestions. The paper is only like
a proposal. No real experiments are needed. | i******y

on your thesis.
However, I doubt they will provide many useful suggestions. Look at reviews
from SIGMOD/VLDB, either acceptance or rejection, you don't often see many
constructive suggestions in them.
But from there, I guess at least you can tell roughly whether your topic is on
the right track or not.

发帖数: 52 | 3 You are absolutely right. It is especially good for fresh PhD students.
This year, the PCs of the VLDB PhD workshop are all junior researchers (most
are assistant professors from universities), except the general chair and the
local chair. They are required to attend the workshop in person and to discuss
with students and to give suggestions.
