周末一半出去爬山，一半带小朋友瞎逛悠。
电影还在看，今年到目前为止看了128部，低于去年同期水平。上两周集中看了好多希
区柯克的，这两周在看小津的片子。

classical)的经典作品，都听到耳熟能详，激发出对音乐本身的热爱，然后才会有感觉
。（这个就跟骑车一样，不说别的，先上mileage)
一般来说，这些经典的东西，一张唱片要听4-5遍才能听出味道来（建议看john cusack
演得电影，high fidelity）
hifi版的同学们一般上来就是几千块的器材，然后用来听phantom of opera， 要不就
是上“发烧碟” ：）

equipments (cameras or else), if one is aware of that. whether or not I can
make sense of other people's obsession is a different story. But if they are
happy, that's good enough for me.

的。就好比一个刚开始骑车的同学，一上来就搞辆pinarello，全副武装，然后骑个
16mph，这骑车里面的乐趣跟咱们C版上众多几百块的车骑20+mph的好手相比，好像就差
点劲。
话说回来，有的高手就是玩器材，并不介意软件，那也是种玩法。

however, I still believe, at least for many people in HiFi board, people get
more obsessed with equipment than really spending time enjoying them.
I was once obsessed with classic music, and even after many years of totally
out of touch (too busy, and my wife hate classic music), I can tell what is
being played instantly once I tuned to classic music FM in my car. With
very poor equipment, mostly a walkman, I enj

really tell the difference between those very expensive equipments.
Unfortunately, some of them mostly just watch DVD with their 20k+ equipment
HiFi video room, and just occasionally listen to their collection of CDs.

your fav composers and conducters? what books to read? etc.
I never went over my head to buy really nice cameras/lenses or bikes,
understanding that I myself make more difference in the results than
equipments. but music/hifi is something special. when some good music played
right, it gave me goose bumps, brought you to tears. there is a saying that
"some people are willing to sell the couch to hold on to their hifi."

nothing wrong with that. I even hooked my hifi up to my TV. it's really nice

I grew up with very bad impressive of music, as a kid I was totally driven
mad by a girl in my neighbor, who is practicing 二胡 all the time.
But somehow for reason I can't remember, when I just started high school, I
decide to really understand classical music. What I did is every night
before sleep, I put on my headphone, and force me to listen to Beethoven's
No 5 with my walkman.

music collection is still small. I will have to work on that.
so far my favorite two things to do:
1. late night (the background will be a lot quieter) home alone or some
times with my wife, a glass of wine or two, listening to symphonies at high
volume.
2. evening after a ride, sitting outside with a window open, listening to
some small stage performance, piano, violin solo, or even chamber orchestra.

speakers, it will take a work-horse amp to drive it.
you might consider separate pre-amp and power amp (with separate power
supplies for the two channels). most integrated amps use a common power
supply -- as a result the power is sucked away by the heavy bass, resulting
in murky sounds. the separation of pre-amp and power amp would probably be
the most cost-effective way to upgrade from your current system. again, try
