without eating meat, since you have to somehow make up for a balanced diet.
But why is it a terrible idea? There are many successful athletes who are
vegans. A couple of examples: Scott Jurek and Steph Davis.

feel sharper. maybe it's lighter and easier to digest thus doesn't divert
too much blood from brain. |

母也是动物，所以面包之类的，vegan是不吃的。我觉得这可笑又恐怖。
人类是食物链的最上端，动物植物都在人类猎食的范围之内，我不觉的这有什么错。
再说明一点，我对素食没有反对意见，但是过分的强调不摄取动物产品，我觉得这是不
对的，也不健康。

don't we all do things that are not healthy? Drinking beer is not healthy
and we are all guilty of doing that. Sitting in front of a computer for 8
hours a day is not healthy either and I'm doing exactly that...

I personally LOVE meat. I would rather die compared to give up meat. =P
But I also respect those vegans. They have their own belief in term of diet.
They make their own choice. No one else should ever try to intervene even
if he/she does not buy the idea. There are many great athletes who are vegan
out there, such as Scott Jurek, Carl Lewis etc. This fact at least shows
that being vegan has no harm on your health. All the protein provided by
meat could be replaced by bean etc.
I haven't personally met any vegan yet. But I have a couple of friends who
are vegetarians. They convert to vegetarians due to different reasons. And
they are just normal people as you and me. One friend actually is a cross-
country runner and just finished a half marathon at 1:21 and training for
London Marathon now. I like my friends based on who they are instead of what
diet they take. In term of diet, I don't have to do what they do, but at
least I can show some respect.
BTW, a lot of bread are vegan, as long as they do not contains animal fat
and milk etc. Yeast, like mushrooms, are eukaryotic micro-organisms
classified in the Fungi kingdom, which in layman's terms means that yeast is
not derived from animal products or classified as an animal and is thus
vegan-friendly.

does not have to eat bread or drink beer to survive.

vegetarian本身就分好多种， 还有吃奶或者蛋或者鱼的.....
爱吃啥就吃啥，个人自由，没必要乱judge.....

上次回国和朋友去吧，朋友热情地为美国来的兄弟点了budweiser，我心里那个哭啊，
还得强颜欢笑。

性贫血的，吃素会营养不良的。
