i taped myself at the studio's showcase party, and watched in frustration
myself dancing jive without nice presentation, amongst the loud cheers from
my fellow students (i mean, american aunts and uncles).
the next day, i went to my teacher and asked for his honest opinion about my
dancing. he said, i feel you don't enjoy dancing. i almost fainted; i said
i am so crazy about dancing, can't you see? he said, i know you like danc

when i watched myself dancing the first time, it was HORRIBLE.
i would say my dancing has improved, and probably less horrible, but still
not good to look at. So... i stopped taping myself after a while, hehe
just relax and enjoy the time you having with your partner...i guess that's
the most important part for me. and if it looks not that ugly to the
audience, i will take it as a bonus for me.
BTW, u have got a partner now?

There was once that a teacher was helping us to find the feeling of a
dancing fairy, she said dancing is like acting, you have to make yourself
believe in it first, then it shows to everybody else. I know this is
probably obvious when you state it out, but it really helps. | M*****e

The more showcase you do, the more relax you will be, and your dance will be
more joyful. Dance change me a lot and it will change you too.

既然你技巧上已经上了一个层次，那么可以花时间来提高表现力了
我觉得提高表现力最重要的途径是，你心里有一种渴望，渴望舞蹈来表演你的内心
比如你痛苦，那就不应该跳快乐的舞曲和舞步
你快乐，就要把快乐用你的节奏，步伐和身体表现出来
要有渲染力

got some 'pat' here :) I have got over the frustration after some self
analysis.
I was sad, not because it was the first time i watch my 'scary movie', but
because my pratice scary movie is much less scary than my performance scary
movie. So number one, i need to relax psychologically.
I have been focusing on the technique of chacha, samba, and rumba since Jan
