Oracle 8i or DB2 6.1?
I got both versions at hand.
i don't know which is better
integrated with Java.
for DB2, do i have to install
Java from IBM?
thanks. | s*k 发帖数: 144 | 2
Depend on your usage and development Enviroment.
If you use VisualAge for Java, I feel DB2 is better,
otherwise, try Oracle.
Of course, if your application will migrate onto OS/390
or AS/400 some day, I recommanded DB2 definetely.

or use embeded SQL within java apps; Sun's JDBC standard
is pretty much driven by Oracle's implementation; Oracle's
JDeveloper supports EJB and servlets that work with 8i out
of the box; and oracle is ported to about 30 platforms
(certainly including OS/390 and AS/400)...
i have no experience w/ DB2 so this is just for comparison
with other's opinion.
