Good for folks who will be current before the end of this September as they
could get cards a month or so earlier. But not good for the folks right
behind, they may need have to wait for another year because more porting/new
filing 485s are jumping ahead and they will use this year's visa numbers
and even the next year's number in Oct. The later they jump in, the less
chance they will be approved before the end of the year.

have their EB3 PD earlier than EB2 PD, it is not a big deal for EB2 PD
advance several months regarding porting.

to clarify and say it is not a win-win for EVERYBODY due to the current
system. It is always good for some folks while bad for others because the
supply is limited. Some folks will definetely be delayed (hard to say for
how long) because those portings jump in ahead earlier. It might not be that
bad if the movements advance more evenly throught a year. | w**t

better for all of us. If someone is earlier, they are earlier. That is it.

may take a couple of months or longer for background check). If those
porting cases are not allowed to get to file 485 untill July or August,it is
very likely they can NOT get approved before Sept 30 (use this year's SO).
But if hey are allowed to get in May/June, there are more chance for them to
get approved because they have two more months for background check so they
could use this year's SO. Again, just wanted to see it is never to be a win
-win game for everyone.

to do it a couple of months later, so the porting will affect EB2C with
later PD anyway. I just do not see that is such a big deal regarding porting
for EB2CI PD to advance a month earlier.

0) No doubt that it will be good for EB3->2 porters and those EB2 who missed
the July's fiasco in 2007.
But for those EB2s who are already in line:
1) It is better for folks whose PDs are current and will be current before
this September because they could get the cards one or two months earlier.
2) It is worse for folks who are right later than the cut-off date for this
September, and some might have to wait for another year or so because they
could be current before this September if the porting cases wouldn't be able
to get in line earlier to use this year's SO.
3) No impacts to folks whose pds are much later than the cut-off date for
this September because the porting would happen sooner or later anyway.
Because we don't know how many SOs will be for this year, we can't complain
right now. If there are more SOs than they could handle in the last Quarter
it is ok to use SOs earlier so they don't waste any SOs. But if the SOs are
not that many, I don't think it is good for the folks who fall in the 2)
above and more SO would go to EB-Is.
Anyway, they are several unkowns and I don't know the laws about the SO
reallocation (Don't know if it has to wait till last quarter or can be done
earlier?). But we should know what's going on there why they didn't do SO
earlier last year but this year. I was hoping it is because too many SOs....
Again, just wanted to say again it is never going to be a win-win for
EVERYONE as long as the visa surply is limited.
