This e-mail message is in reply to your inquiry regarding the Form I-485’s,
Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status that XX and XX
, filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on May XX,
2014.
One of the important factors in the completion of the Form I-485
adjudication process is the availability of an immigrant visa number from
the U.S. Department of State. USCIS electronic records indicate that your
constituents' permanent residency cases were examined by an adjudicating
officer at the NSC; however, the adjudication process could not be completed
due to the current unavailability of immigrant visa numbers for these cases.
In a recent update regarding the availability of immigrant visa numbers for
China-mainland born permanent residency applicants, under the employment-
based Second Preference (EB-2) category, we are informed that the State
Department has suspended the allocation of immigrant visa numbers under the
EB-2 category (China-mainland born) for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2015. | f********i
