拿不到TENURE 何来稳定? 即使拿到TENURE, 很多专业也照样走人.

一周干七天, 一天十几个小时, 你就剩下吃饭睡觉的时间了. 谁吃饭和睡觉的时候不自

在这行这么多年了, 积累都积累在学术界了, 到哪儿再去找类似level的工作?

多年的 PhD, 硬着头皮拿tenure.
拿到tenure之后，一般都35-40岁，甚至更老，你不留学术界还想去哪？

熬了几年到tenure的时候，变成了箭在弦上、不得不发； 拿了tenure再去工业界需要
很大的决心，还有合适的机会，两者任一都不容易

进了工业界，就对老板负责，老板让你站着你就不能蹲着。faculty一般还是有一定自
由度的。我这一行进了工业界，就是辅助部门，发挥不了中流砥柱的作用，还是呆在学
校里面还算是个人物。 |

1. money
2. relevance
3. impact
4. no more teaching
Unless you are in the top 20% at a good place or top 40% in a prestigious
place, you are probably not happy with any of the above.
