Our university has a new Building on Inclusive Excellence hiring initiative.
The upshot of it, for our department, is the possibility of hiring two new
faculty rather than one.
As part of the process, we must be able to identify candidates who present
a documented commitment to underrepresented populations in academia. The
documented part is key: it must be part of your application dossier, in your
cover letter, c.v., or research or teaching statement.
When we submitted our ads, this program had not yet been announced. We
have received permission, however, to allow finalists who feel they meet the
criteria to submit updated documents.

We do not need an extensive revision of submitted materials, we just need to
be able to point to two pieces of evidence, as described in the attached
document. A few sentences or a paragraph should suffice.

就是要你拿出证据 表明你的教学研究这一套东西是会照顾到你这个圈子里的diversity
而现在到处都是diversity的主要原因还不是因为那些黑鬼和墨西哥货太多 必须照顾
他们 他别是他们的interest, motivation, identity之类的

原来只有一个职位，现在可能会新增一个职位，但这个新职位要求申请人能够书面证明
曾经支持过Underrepresentated minority。申请人自己如果是，当然好，如果不是，
以前带过N个那样的学生（本硕博都算上），或者搞过相关的合作项目，也可以作为证
据。
不用过于担心，under-representated minority faculty很难招到。

当时没有太明白这封信的意思，以为我们华人在美国，可以算作 minority，有特招名
额。
您说的是对的。
类似申请EB1A，要满足下面至少两条：
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE CRITERIA (Must meet at least two of the following;
