The following two questions on diversity and inclusion will be included:
1. What kinds of experiences have you had in relating with people
whose backgrounds are different than your own? Describe a specific situation
in which you worked with a diverse group of people or person from a
different background to accomplish a specific task or objective. Based on
this experience, what did you learn?
2. How would you be able to contribute to the institution’s effort to
enhancing diversity and inclusion in a meaningful way?

1. When I worked as a TA for a group of students from different education
backgrounds, I encourage all the students to ask questions, present their
own comments, and freely respond to my questions. During these activities, I
make a conscious effort to let all the students feel comfortable in
articulating their opinions and actively engaging in discussions.From such
efforts, I understood the specific challenges faced by different students.
This really improved my teaching effectiveness and helped me quickly
identify the different needs from different students.
From this experience, I learned that a healthy diversity and inclusion
climate is the key to maintaining a high morale for students in education/
research activities as well as effective communications. It is grounded in
respect for all the people who are involved in academic activities and
evidenced by a pattern of civil interactions.
2. I fully understand that a diverse working environment provides all
students with an equal opportunity for academic success. I plan to make
strong efforts to involve women and underrepresented minorities into our
research projects. For example, I plan to advise >10 female students to
perform independent research projects in my group. Further, in my future
classes, I will continue to make a conscious effort to pay attention to the
needs of students from different background, especially those from
underrepresented minority groups/families to make sure that all students
will keep up with the class progress.

想面试问题，根本就不care这个机会。
