基本上最近电视的转播我看到的都是
par5, driver + 3/5wood, 2 on, if not 2 on, pitch or chip would get on green
par4, driver (300+) + short iron (<170)
i rarely see any pros use long iron, except some long par3.
at least, i rarely see tiger use 6 iron or 5 iron, not to mention 3 or 4 (
only few times on the par3)

发帖数: 3067 | 6 像我们这种WEEKEND GOLFER， 一般WIND BLOW的时候就不打了
加上TEE还靠前，LONG IRON是不是彻底用不上了
每场下来，我的5/6/7加起来也用不到5次, 当然我没有5以上的IRON
感觉，每次花钱去RANGE练的到场上都用不到
还不如练练SHORT IRON/WEDGE/PUTT

link course a while ago.
i feel the same urge to reduce number of clubs in bag. probably 7 clubs
enough --- 7i,8i, pw,sw,5wood, 3wood, driver, putter
maybe keep 3i, not for low stinger shot agaist wind, but for low shot
through hanging tree branches, but again, even this can be replaced with
choke down 3wood...
this also save equipment costs, doesn't it...

发帖数: 3067 | 9 i was saying "in general", weekend golfers got less chance to play wind blow
conditions.
yes, i do like link style course, since it is always challenge and lure you
come back for it.
i do like to carry all 14 clubs, sometimes 15 clubs if i can, because you
never know when you need it.
but i feel like there is only one or two shots from each of 5/6/7 irons.
given there are only few chance to use them, how good or bad your mid-long
irons really doesnt matter to your score.

发帖数: 382 | 11 For the course I normally play, par 4's are more like (good) driver + wedge.
So, I switched to long iron + mid-short iron. That's my current course
strategy.
driver is only for par 5s. |
