but how to apply handicap is art, lol
I googled around, there is no official rule from Golf Association.

for our outing, even with handi adjusting, low handicapper tend to be the
winners.
to me, 10 and 15 are two levels in golf. //kaka

To me, I think handicap 0 vs 5 is big difference, 5 vs 10 is big but smaller
difference. 10 vs 15 is not too bad, 15 vs 20 both have good chance.
remember, Vegas is not head to head but #1/4 vs 2/3 total with rotation. But
there are unlucky guys lost all 18 holes.:) kaka.

i never play with 0 or 5, that is why i don't know if there is anything
difference between them or how big the difference.
but since i always play with 10 ~ 15, and I am in between, i know exactly

try this. if I count the best 10 of last 20 rounds, I am a 9. If I count the
worst 10 of last 20 rounds. i think I am a 15.:)

发帖数: 3067 | 13 use the official handi calculation, first adjust with course rating and
slope, avg the 10 best scores (adjusted score),
if your best 10 of last 20 rounds is 9, you should be a 9. when calculate
handi, only the best 10 count. it is normal for handi 9 to shoot some high
scores, what is why handi system only count the best 10 out of last 20.
but keep in mind, you need use the course rating and slope to adjust your
raw score first. say on a easy course, you shot 85, after adjust, it might
be 17. for a tough course, a 85 would become a 9.

Then the net scores for this hole are A bogey, B par, C bogey and D double
bogey, so B wins the hole.
Basically you calculate your net score for the hole based on your handicap
and the hole handicap and then compare the net scores. If you have used
golfshot, it can give you net score for each hole.
This is how the match play tournament in my club plays.

Based on real live experience, low handi golfer has more possibility to win
money. but sometimes he may loose badly depends on his own play and pairing.
high handi has more possibility to lose money, but can win or even sometimes.
In my playing group, handi ranges from 7 to 15, it seems everybody OK with
this setup.
I will not play with a scratch play head to head without handi adjusting.
But in a vegas format, I am ok.
