But I also strongly agree with shishi.
Do your homework seriously before you buy a gun!!
Gun will not only be able to protect you, it will also endanger your family
if hundled incorrectly!!
I am going to buy a gun, but I will force me to spend at least a solid 20h
to learn about guns first. I did my first shooting a months ago and I was
reading Bigbore's article how to handle a gun ( BTW, very good except too
long!).
Most WSNs here are doing sciences/engineerings, you surely know how much
time you will need to read the manual of a 10-million dollars equipment. In
my opion you gun worth much more than 10-million dollars : you gun could
kill people, whose life is invaluable.

let me make it clear again: great power comes with great responsibility.
you don't buy a gun because some guys says you have right to buy a gun and
you need it to defend your home. you will be next guy come to this board and
cry:"I'm in trouble because I just fired gun at home!"
you buy a gun only when you know you need a gun and when you know how to
safely handle a gun and how and when to use it. I'm against anyone buy a gun
without any training. the minimum should be a NRA basic class.
to those keep saying gun helps defending their home and guns are safe:
please tell me one single case on this board since the existence that people
needed a gun to defend themselves. and please tell us how many cases people
accidentally fire a gun.
one more time: people have right to have guns and people should only have a
gun when they know how to use a gun. | c**********d 发帖数: 2428 | 2 Most of people here do. However, just like anywhere in life, every once
awhile there are someone who doesn't belong here come anyway, that's when we have to be serious.
That's been said, no matter how careful you are, and how experienced you are, accident do happen. It is not a good practice, or just friendly, to accuse the ill fated fellow. After all, we are all human, and we do make mistakes. However, it does serve as good reminder for everyone here that it is serious stuff that we are playing here. | f*********n 发帖数: 11154 | 3 This board has a well-established culture. The safety is always the No. 1
focus, everything else merely the benefits of being safe. Safety is not
about taking a class. Safety is the continued practice of correct
techniques learned.
These are a group of friendly and experienced shooters. Once in a while we
have people who show interests but lacks the right attitude in firearm
handling and ownership. These guys tend to have a difficult time fitting in
. The culture of this board does not tolerate such behaviors. Respect is a
two-way street, the board respects and welcomes every member, while every
member respects the traditions and guidelines established through
experiences and unfortunately, accidents.
I encourage everyone interested in shooting activities to attend formal
training classes; but I encourage everyone more to practice what they have
acquired each and every time they handle a firearm. I would like to see
more responsible ownership of firearms among oversea Chinese, the 8 do's and
don'ts should always be a guideline for everyone, novice or experienced. |
