A Mesquite man was arrested and hauled off to jail for firing a warning shot
shot into the ground of his own backyard, in an attempt to scare burglars
away. He says he was simply protecting his wife and property, but police
called his actions reckless. |

只要开了火，必然要走到grand jury那一步
给这个系统掏一些保护费做润滑
就可以保证在那之前是呆在自己家里的
总之，还是要做好预案
包括这一类的
让自己和家里人到时候都不慌张吧 |

警察也是例行公事吧，就看证人怎么说的了。
发warning shot 这事是比较麻烦。万一打到人还
算warning？还是没有打中就可以声称是warning shot？
还有就是这人原来离篱笆有多远，是躲家里开的枪还是
跑出屋子？

happens to me, I will be shooting at the invaders even if it means i go to
jail.
BTW - police call Mesquite "metropolitan" area, that is really funny.

her abusive husband, and she was arrested for that. because her warning shot
went into the bedroom where her children sleep.
just don't fire warning shots.
this is what I know about warning shots if you care to read.
back in the navy, we can only do that in international waters. when a
suspicious craft ignores your verbal warning and pulls close (400 yard), and
when the watch officer/captain authorizes, and only when there are no other
crafts, land or buildings present in the direction of fire on the horizon,
you can fire off a single shot, usually with the M2HB, by manually
disengaging the bolt-release sear.
There's still a lot of legality issues associated with this even if we do
everything by the book and that's why, after USS Cole we would much prefer
to just blast them to bits when they get too close.
i don't suppose you have 12 nautical miles of clear water in any direction
when you fire your warning shots at home, so just don't.
and even if you did, you should always claim that you fired at the intruder.
they can't charge you for being a bad shot. |
