With respect to Mr. XXX’s permanent residency case, USCIS electronic
records indicate that the background check process mentioned in our previous
correspondence remains active and is not yet complete. The adjudication of
Mr. XXX’s Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or
Adjust Status, will continue to be held in abeyance pending receipt of the
necessary background check clearance.
The NSC unit involved in the background check process is aware of the
congressional interest in Mr. XXX’s permanent residence application;
however, we are unable to determine the dates on which the background check
and adjudication processes will be complete. If you intend to follow-up
with the NSC Congressional Unit after approximately 60-90 days from the date
of this email message, we would be pleased to provide another case status
update based on the future inquiry from your office and available
information.
