make sure that there are clear distinction between k, m and b. And if the
computer auomated the trade for me, I will at least make sure there is a
counter party there to avoid a drop of 60% simply because my trade wiped out
all buyers because of the high frequency trading.
Who wrote these programs for the large investment firms? Are people really
that stupid on wallstreet? Or is it just a cover-up story?

A friend of mine used to work in a trading software company, which is
actual rated number one by quite a few megazines and used by many
many hedge funds. (And no surprise, most of the developers there are
a3.) And do you know what he told me? He said his company doesn't even
really have QA. As long as it compiles, they send it to clients.

have level 2 data in which they can peek in and know the market depth.

most users will figure out how to correctly use it.
Like our company, the entire trading system is propietery. We have thousands
of QA checks running every day. :)
