is it safe? | m****u 发帖数: 229 | 2 Tim,
last time I did a whois search on mint.com.And Kenny DD said that I was
crazy.
I know it has a great security standard but when ID and password got leaked,
will mint.com pay me for all my loses? How hard will it be for me to fight
for my right to get my money back if I lose any.
I wouldn't trust mint.com.
I will never trade in security for convenience. | t*m 发帖数: 4414 | 3 mint.com already has my infomations.
I can delete my account there, but does it help?
leaked,
fight

Quicken. So in terms of security, it's as good as Intuit/TurboTax.
Whether Intuit or any other online financial service is secure is another
question.

| s********n 发帖数: 1962 | 5 I remember I once see a post on another forum. The guy said
that internet is never safe enough, and he claims he was told
by his expert friends that anything connected to internet can
be comprised.
As a result, this guy refused to use any online banking service
and claimed that he stored all his personal information including
financial records on a laptop with absolutely no internet connection.
That made me laugh.
Nothing is absolutely safe. What's interesting is that the chance
of dying from a car accident is about 0.005% and about same for
murder. But we still walk and drive around happily. So you do
take risk for convenience.
I guess the chance of your mint account being comprised and really
causing any financial damage to you is less than 0.005%, and even
that ever happens, the loss will be far less serious than death.

Mint.com may do something that facebook did before.
Even if u delete something from mint.com, it may still hold it in a way that
this data doesn’t display to you. Once things are on internet, they can be
there forever. There is not a technology that cans un-do what’s done
already on internet.
I agree on that mint.com is a very secure site. But just look at the event
happened 1-2 days ago, some smart ass hackers got many people’s email
addresses. I know the email server company isn’t as secure as these big
name banks.
What I care about most is when this 0.0000000001% shitty event shits on me,
who will pay me for my loses and am I 100% covered by someone who will pay
me back?
If one day when info is leaked out by mint.com. Will mint.com send me an
email that says “oh hey, by the way, u got to change ur ID and password for
your citi bank, chase bank, wells fargo bank, bank of America, PNC, Sun
Trust, Vanguard, Goldman, some of your local bank accounts and your 401k
account because someone hacked into our server and stole them already. And
we are working with FBI to find out how hackers did it. And don’t blame on
us ok? We are super secure.”
Someone please tell me will all my banks tell me that hey, u shouldn’t use
mint.com cuz that’s not part of our services and u got hax? That sucks. But
u need to suck it up for this one. Kthxbai.
Tim, u are already on the boat, so go stick with it. Maybe one day, when you
have enough resources, then u can take over that company and then u don’t
need to worry about it like I do now.
