all their incomes are from dividend/LT capital gains, do they still need to
pay the AMT? If AMT kicks in, their tax rate will be much higher than 15%.
I once tried to input a large amount of stock LT capital gain in TurboTax
and the AMT kicks in and the effective rate is like 23% or something like
that.
Any experts? |

However, AMT also has an exemption phaseout during which the real marginal

the AMT exemption is depleted, which is always the case for these wealth
people.
