account, with 1% APY. For a beginner, what would be some good ways to invest?
I'm looking for investments that 1. have higher return (basically to keep up
with inflation) and 2. relatively low maintenance.
I also really want to find ways to lower my taxes.
Living in the Silicon Valley. Home prices are crazy and inventory is very
low. So buying a home is not very likely in the near future. | y****i 发帖数: 778 | 2 Individual bonds with $10k as a unit to set up a bond ladder just like a CD
but much higher rate than saving account now, including muni bonds whose
interests are tax free and investment grade corporate bonds for better
liquidity, more details in bond club:

money in low cost index funds. Index funds tend to be tax efficient as well.
Bonds generally is not a good place to be at this time, a laddered approach
sounds reasonable, but it will be complicated, though, maybe the bond club
can help you navigate the maze, they are the experts. | r**m 发帖数: 1825 | 4 since you care about taxes, the first question would be: have you
contributed to the Roth IRA?
