发帖数: 1252 | 1 我这几天正在学morningstar的investment classroom，现在正在看关于portfolio的，
上面提到说core mutual fund（large cap.blend and large cap. value）要占总的至
少2/3。我看了下我的那些mutual fund，发现里面有的有图告诉我是属于哪个category
，（e.g. 是large cap. blend还是large cap growth等等)，有的只是给出credit
quality vs. interest rate sensitivity 的图，有的什么图也不给。
我想请问既然都是Mutual fund为什么不一样，是不是我有些基本的概念还没有搞清楚
？如果是的话，能不能请告诉我怎么回事，或者指点下我应该去classroom的那一部分
去学习？

Mutual funds can invest in equity(stocks), bonds, commodity, REITS etc. For
most people, a portfolio with stock funds and bond funds should be fine.
Among stock funds, large cap funds (funds that invest in large cap stocks)
are usually considered core. But the concept of core investment is dependent
on your age and time horizon. If you are close to retirement age, a
diversified bond fund can very well be your " core". | b********i

不过有个问题我觉得有必要请教下。你是说，只要是large cap就可以作为core mutual
funds。可是我的理解是如果是large cap growth，那就会不很稳定，risk比较高，所
以作为core不大好？因为我的知识全来源于morningstar，它上面是这么说的。不知道
这个怎么理解呢？
还有，你说“But the concept of core investment is dependent on your age and
time horizon.”意思是不是：如果退休还早，就可以承担大点风险，所以去多投资点
large cap growth阿、股票阿都还是没问题的；但如果还有几年就退休了，那么最好少
冒险，多投资fund什么的比较稳定的。是这样吗？

发帖数: 278 | 4 我个人的观点是， 不去管他 core 还是不 core, 用 index fund 去 cover entire
market, 你可以用 total stock market index or s&p 500 plus small cap index,
着就是你的 core
如果你离退休年龄还很远， 比方说二三十年， 你可以也应该 take substantial risk
in equity, you can go for 100% stock or 80_90% stock and 10_20 % bond,不过
这完全去决你的 risk appetite, 保守一些不会有错， 随着 你接近退休， 你应该逐
渐减少equity exposure, by increasing bond percentage.

里最常见的问题是： 我有闲钱， 该如何投资。这样的问题很难回答，很多时候问问题
的人都说不清这闲钱有多闲， 是干什么用的。 |
