What to do now
Since the Fed has signaled that it may begin to raise the Fed funds rate in
the middle of this year, we believe it's a good time to make sure that your
bond portfolio is prepared for the change in policy. What you choose to do d
epends on where you’re starting.
For those holding portfolios with a high proportion of longer-term bonds, it
may make sense to add some short-term bonds or bond funds that invest in sh
ort-term bonds to reduce the potential for volatility. A "barbell" strategy
that balances short and long-term bonds is likely to be less volatile than a
concentrated portfolio of longer-term bonds. However, it may underperform a
more concentrated portfolio, especially if the yield curve becomes steeper—
that is, if long-term rates rise faster than short-term interest rates.
Also, be aware that not all short-term bonds and bond funds are alike. Some
short-term bond funds invest in sub-investment grade bonds or bank loans, wh
ich can be quite volatile. We suggest looking at investment-grade bonds and
bond funds with very short maturities or that float with short-term interest
rates instead. Consult the Schwab Select List? for more information on bond
funds that hold short-term notes.
For investors holding a high proportion of cash or very short-term bonds, ri
sing interest rates present an opportunity to generate more income by adding
intermediate-term, higher coupon bonds. A laddered portfolio that spreads m
aturities out across your time horizon may be a way to generate more income
without having to time the interest rate cycle. However, while bond ladders
have some advantages, they may underperform a more targeted strategy.

我买了$2000 4week T-bill @ 0.015%，就买的玩，今天回来还是2000.难道利息还取整？
