•Experiences with Distributed/Multi-Tier programming and IPC is a plus.
•Knowledge of TCP/IP sockets is a plus.

•Must be able to work in a fast paced development environment. Must be
able to analyze and solve technical problems related to communications
networks in a client/server, or multi-tier environment.

•Possess strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.

•Communicate effectively on a technical level.
•Ability to work under pressure in high visibility situations.
•Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and make decisions

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Design, develop, test, and integrate networking, satellite modem
control, digital signal processing, and board monitoring and control
functionality within a satellite broadband hub linecard and related
environments.
•Ensure that interfaces and messaging between the hub linecard
software and internal or external components are well documented and
implemented in a maintainable fashion.
•Optimize datapath processing structures to maximize IP throughput.
•Implement software on general purpose embedded microprocessors as
well as on FPGA based soft processors (e.g. Altera NIOS and Xilinx
MicroBlaze).
•Use efficient lab techniques to prove that modules are properly
integrated and to troubleshoot problems whether they lie within or
outside
the hub linecard software.
•Make use of test vectors generated by system level simulations (C++,
Matlab, Simulink, etc) to ensure correct implementation of control
algorithms and signal processing functions.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education:
•BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, MS
preferred
Experience:
•At least four years of experience in embedded software development,
preferably in the field of wireless communications, with several of the
following:
•Experience with C++ object oriented design and development is
required.
•Experience with real-time and embedded development environments,
including the development of low level drivers and Board Support
Packages (
BSP)
•Experience in TCP/IP protocol suite including TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP,
IPSec, and Multicast
•Development experience in Linux including working knowledge of Linux
internals is required.
•Familiarity with satellite communications networks desirable.
•Experience with system level troubleshooting.
•Strong verbal and written communications skills. | o***i
