RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities will include the following:
General
* Enhance and support our valuation service and risk system for over-the-
counter products, making it available to multiple applications within the
firm (CDS, Interest Rate Swaps, FX Forwards, FX Options, Volatility Swaps
etc.)
* Manage and support vendor based convertible bond model which includes
supporting products such as: convertible bonds, equity, equity options,
credit default swaps and interest rate swaps.
* Assist in development of our Merger Arbitrage portfolio management
application, providing additional functionality as requested by the users.
* Collaborate with our top-notch internal software development team,
producing in-house applications and integrating vendor products to deliver
rich, enterprise software solutions.
* Develop deep domain knowledge of trading by sitting on the trading desk,
attending industry conferences, broker partner presentations, and reading
internally distributed publications.
* Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of mission critical applications,
including business analysis, design and architecture, development and
deployment
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate would possess the following:
* A Computer Science degree from a top university (Undergraduate or Graduate
).
* 2 – 6 years of relevant experience in the financial industry
* Good understanding of core Java (5+) and comfort developing in both
Windows and Linux environments.
* Experience with supporting code for valuation and/or risk models of at
least some of the following products: CDS, Interest Rate Swaps, FX Forwards,
FX Options.
* A basic understanding of SQL with experience writing queries and creating
database schema.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly,
interact with various types of personalities, and demonstrate a high-level
of professionalism.
* Desire to learn about finance (CFA, FRM, CAIA or MBA) is a plus. |
