发帖数: 44 | 1 ph.d念不下去了，找到工作才知道有MS degree也不能申请OPT，因为学校没有
terminal MS program。。。再念一个MS还是不想了。剩下的选择是CPT fulltime，已
经用了9个月了，再用就一直用下去，死了心的不想ph.d.毕业申OPT，用着CPT等公司给
转H1B（之前拿了个master degree是ph.d.期间拿的）。
请问会有问题么？比如h1b抽到，审核的时候人家一看那么多CPT会是问题么？有没先例

发帖数: 44 | 5 我的问题时，用CPT开始的话就没又回头路用OPT，即使Ph.D.毕业也没用，因为超过12
个月的CPT。如果抽不到H1B就得继续用CPT再熬一年。。
ABD至少要等到这秋季，也就是要9月底十月初的样子，再开始申OPT，就得到1月或者2
月才能开始上班，有点迟而且有变数怕公司不愿意。而且ABD之后用OPT只有一年时间必
须毕业也可能是问题 |

其中第13072页中对 Thesis Requirement 的解释如下
“The final rule clarifies that F–1 students who have completed all other
course requirements for their STEM degree may be eligible for a STEM OPT
extension notwithstanding the continuing need to complete the thesis
requirement or equivalent for their STEM degree. DHS believes that this
flexibility is consistent with DHS’s historical interpretation of the
regulatory provisions governing STEM OPT extensions. This exception,
however, does not apply with respect to a previously earned STEM degree if
the
student seeks to base the STEM extension on such a degree. ”
总而言之，只要你的coursework 都complete了你就可以file extension的，并不要求
你完成thesis
