Primary Job Responsibilities:
Can you bring the ideas, energy, and dedication needed to reach and engage
the next 100M eBay users? The Traffic team is responsible for the systems
and algorithms powering all of eBay''s advertising, as well as its affiliate
program and outbound e-mail. The E-Mail team in Traffic is hiring!
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to enhance and support eBay’s
email platform.
In this role, you will :
Design and implement efficient, reusable, intuitive and flexible UI
components using Object-oriented JavaScript, HTML/HTML 5, CSS, AJAX, JQuery,
Java and JSP.
Tackle challenges of fixing browser-specific problems and site speed issues.
Must be able to independently code and test major features, as well as work
jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes
Take product ownership from implementation, including the responsibilities
for code roll-out and responding to customer issues.
Collaborate with product management, QA, business teams and Operations team
to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to
functionality, performance, reliability, realistic implementation schedules,
and adherence to development goals and principles.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes
Write detailed technical documentation to allow easy handoffs to other team
members
Share engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities
Job Requirements
Requires 2+ year(s) in web development using HTML / HTML 5, Javascript , CSS
, AJAX, and JQuery. Must be very fluent in HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, and CSS.
Requires 1 years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming, Java and JSP
Also requires good experience and understanding of Ajax, Object-oriented
JavaScript, DOM and XML.
Must have good knowledge of problems and solutions for cross browser
compatibility.
Must have good knowledge of techniques for improving performance of the web
pages using HTML, JS and CSS optimization.
Must be able to code according to varying levels of specifications created
by UI designers in order to create mock-ups, prototypes and final product.
Must have good working knowledge on Firebug, IE web developer, Httpwatch/
Charles tools.
Must be able to work in highly iterative design cycles.
Need to have good analytical and problem solving skills, good verbal and
written communication skills.
Experience with source control management tools, Java application servers
and Eclipse would be a plus.
Strong software design, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Proven
results oriented person with a delivery focus in a high velocity, high
