Position Summary
To provide the Bank vital loan production analytics and report to provide
Executive Management the empirical data to ensure that the Bank effectively
prices our loan products and maintains our loan reserves for default
predictions. This position will involve significant Statistical Analysis
System (SAS) programming skills and familiarity with performance
optimization techniques within a SAS environment. The Production Analytics
Senior Developer will mentor and assist developers as needed to ensure the
code being produced is in line with department expectations and that the
output is consistent with the Quantitative Modeling team's expectation. The
Production Analytics Senior Developer will assist the Team Lead in defining
the architecture for the production environment and forward looking
direction for the team.
Position Accountabilities
1. Ensure the delivery of meaningful data analytics, responsible for
the design and delivery of high quality, efficient analytic code and
components and integration into production infrastructure.
2. Solve complex software engineering challenges to efficiently
process large amounts of data within the context of highly analytic,
mathematical processes. Identifies opportunities to enhance analytic
infrastructure.
3. Increase operational efficiency and effectiveness by reviewing
processes and when possible automate the execution of quantitative models
and analytic components to ensure efficient and timely data generation.
4. Works with business units to ensure support production
infrastructure by researching and diagnosing issues, answering user/business
questions and rectifying issues as required.
5. Implements and tests SAS solutions. Gathers requirements for
implementation of SAS solutions. Produces appropriate project documentation
including schedules, systems requirements, technical designs and testing
plans and results.
6. Provide development support and performing code reviews for
junior members of the team.
Qualifications
Required Education or Equivalent Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field required
· Master’s/Advanced Degree in quantitative field required
· Required license(s) or certification(s) SAS Base Programmer/SAS
Advanced Programmer Certificate preferred
Required Experience
· Minimum of 5 years intensive hands-on experience with SAS and
familiar with Base SAS (9.2 and 9.4), Macros, SAS SQL and Enterprise Guide
with 1-2 years of senior developer role; Minimum of 3 years software
development related to quantitative models/analytics components
Field of Experience
· Strong experience in data structures, algorithms, efficient data
transformations, OO programming and design required
· Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL) and
Store Procedures required
· Knowledge of statistical distributions and calculations and basic
understanding of matrix calculation required
· Prior hands-on working experience with SAS Business Intelligence
Applications for Reporting and Analysis and SAS Information Map Studio is
strongly preferred
· Demonstrated strength in problem solving, planning and organizing
and initiative
· Background in Unix
· Working knowledge of SAS - Data step, Formats, Procedures, Macros
, PROC SQL and debugging
· Experience of working on SAS Enterprise BI & DI platforms
· Experience with Enterprise Guide
· Experience of working in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and
Insurance ) domain
· SAS Base programmer/SAS Advanced programmer Certificate a plus
