m*****9 发帖数: 152 | 1 I had 7 prenatal visits in a doctor's office (A) in 2011 between July and
December. Since the doctor I saw didn't arrive at the hospital in time, and
another doctor from another facility delivered my baby, office A is asking
me to go back to pay copays for those prenatal visits I had in 2011. I read
in HHS.gov and HRSA.gov that the Affordable Care Act signed into law in 2010
listed prenatal care as preventive care with no cost-sharing. Here is the
quotation from http://www.hhs.gov/healthcare/facts/factsheets/2012/03/women03202012a.html
•26.9 million women with private health insurance gained expanded
preventive services with no cost-sharing in 2011 and 2012, including
mammograms, cervical cancer screenings, prenatal care, flu and pneumonia
shots, and regular well-baby and well-child visits.
Office A is saying prenatal care was not preventive care.
The insurance company said they can't dictate how the care provider to bill
under certain code, so if I believe the billing was wrong, I have to
coordinate with the doctor's office.
I also contacted Attorney General, and they want to close the case without
giving me any settlement.
Would someone here help me to answer whether prenatal care was preventive
care in 2011 by July in IN with Anthem?
BTW, I had a different insurance in 2011. If the prenatal care was billed
separately from the delivery, should they bill the insurance I had in 2011
instead of the insurance we switched to in January 2012? |
