Seems a lot of bids on same properties are happening in CA which will
definitely increase the house price by far more than $8000. So I don't think
this is good news for home buyers, too many competitions. Should we hold
until later next year when this $8000 expires? Will the house price come
down again? Any opinions are welcomed.

same here. given 30 years, $8,000 cash right now worth $30,000 - $40,000
when this tax thing ends, given the current economic situation, price should
drop that much. the big question is, would the economy go up or not.

not all buyers are first time buyer.$8000 affects some of the price, not
much.
#1 rule to buy: shopping around your target area as many as possible, you
do as much as possible home work about the house, then you will be sure when
it is a good deal.
#2: you can't be sure when the bottom is, just buy when you feel right.
