I received 8000 credit for purchasing a house. In the letter, it said that
because of this credit, my tax base was adjusted and accumulated another $12 charge. There is
also $200+ interest for this $7988 credit.
questions:
(1) AFAIK, the 8000 credit will not change any of my tax bracket/other tax
credit etc. So where the $12 charge comes from?

I guess your AGI is over 150K by $48, so wipe out $12 credit.
(2) The interest rate from IRS seems so high (>15%).
when did you close? would interest start from your closing date?
(3) I think I need to pay tax on this $200 something. Is that right?

I would think my AGI is well below 150k though...
I mailed the mail on Oct 31st.
Wait and see the 1099. I just wonder since almost everyone would receive
interest, how would you deal with the interest?
