梁长度的 crack, inspector 说正常. 请有经验的人帮忙看看? 有多严重? |

basement有两根beam , 另一根还好.
【在 f********r 的大作中提到】 : 可以这么说,beam是看整群体,不是看单个

you have?

C*******d 发帖数: 15836 | 6 You didn't say the vertical dimension of the cracking beam but since it is
one of the main beams, it should be 8". For such a thick beam, a half
centimeter crack doesn't seem to be a problem for such an old house. You can
always add steel reinforcement to the cracking beam or run one or two
parallel beams to share the weight of this beam. 5-6 feet is not long at all
. If you can do it yourself, it shouldn't cost you much at all. So if I were
you, I would follow your inspector's opinion.

It is 8'' beam. The crack goes 3-4 inch into the beam since the inspector
insert his ruler to test the depth. Is that ok?
But that comforts if I can add parallel one.

C*******d 发帖数: 15836 | 8 I see no big problem for the crack to go 3-4 inches into the beam if it is
also 8" in that direction. I stayed in a quite high profile condo earlier
this year in Colorado and I see similar cracks in the room in longer beams.
Such cracks should be natural for such an old house. It is possible to add
steel plates to reinforce the cracked portion of the beam to add its
strength. I also suspect there are special glue to cure such cracks but you
need to find it out for sure. Parallel beam should be e

h****a 发帖数: 628 | 9 Thanks. This conforts me. But the crack goes >0.8cm -1cm which is the widest
among all house I have seen.
I also suspect if parallel works since all weight are on this beam and
parallel won't take any weight from it. But I think add a steel column
support should help.
Thanks a lot for answer.
