近观过是moss。是手工耙掉moss再洒草种好呢 ？还是洒那种除moss的fertilzer把moss

The only problem is the causes for the moss to be there in the first place:
low pH level, low nutrients, compact soil, and/or shady area. If those

除了日照的问题，其他的怎么解决呢？
比如说 low PH level？
low nutrients 用fertilizer可以解决么？
compact soil 是什么意思？要加土么？
我原本买的是纯种子，想补种。现在看来，是不是该买那种带mulch 和fertilizer的种
子？？

check your local Cooperative Extension Office or your state university's
agriculture departments to see if they provide a soil test service, or you
can send your soil samples to UMass soil lab or Logan Labs.
A soil test before planting and a test every couple of years afterwards is
highly recommended for anybody who is serious about his/her lawn.
If a lawn has low pH level, the traditional approach is to apply lime. It
may be a lot to apply (hundreds of pounds if the pH is really low), but now
there are better products like Jonathan Green's Mag-I-Cal which you don't
need too heavy a load to get the same results.
Yes, low nutrients can be amended by adding different kinds of fertilizers
depending on which nutrients are lacking. The soil test report should make
such recommendations.
Compact soil means the soil is tight so water and nutrients can't reach the
roots of the grass efficiently and the roots have a difficult time to grow
too. The traditional approach is to aerate, which has the drawback of
bringing up weed seeds to the surface. But if the soil is too compact, that
's probably the only way to go to get results in a short period of time. An
alternative is to spray water with diluted baby shampoo every few weeks
while adding organic matter like compost to the top. This takes time though.
This all sounds a lot of work. So depends on your expectations, you can
decide what to do next. I understand that there are people who want to have
a picture perfect lawn and would make every effort to achieve it, as well
as people who just don't care. Certainly there are people in-between too.
So if you just want to throw down the seeds and hope for the best, that's
perfectly fine. But there is no free lunch: higher expectations almost
always need more work to get there.
Use plain seeds directly and add top soil and fertilizers separately. Don't
waste your money on the seeds wrapped with mulch or fertilizers. See the

But again, if you think using those seeds would save you time, by all means
go for it, although I have to say people really serious about their lawns
rarely buy seeds from the big box stores.

发帖数: 837 | 9 When the soil is moderately moist (not too dry and not too wet), stick a
screw driver about 4-6 inches into the soil. If you have a hard time to do
so, then your soil may be compact. Also compacted soil may form a puddle
after rain.
If you think your soil is compacted, I'd recommend check it again a few
months after you amend your soil according to soil test. If you decide to
skip the soil test, at least add some fertilizer and top dress with some
compost. If you decide to do core aeration right now, that's fine too,
although you should expect a bit more weeds as a result.
