First, I must thank Dr. He and all the fellow attendees, for making useful
the carpool list I established. Also I thank the attending physicians and
medical students who were invited, for their generous teaching and sharing
experiences to their success.
My situation is a paramedical graduate from China 2 yr ago and now in a
graduate study program in US. With thinking of going to medical school for

Just one question about the verbal part, I know generally the higher the
better. But a 9-10 is still a decent score, isn't it? As a matter of fact,
many american college graduates got in with a 9. Anything below 9 or 8 will
definitely raise a red flag. Of course we have to raise our standard as high
as possible. But for me a 12 will

yes, i agree 10 in Verbal is difficult. Look, this is a way to get rid of
committee's doubt of our language skill and culture shock. I haven't begun
practicing Verbal, so I hope to see how much I can get first and then see
how much i can improve.

, you very possiblely died for such fatal mistake!!!!!!!
such a mistake is miserable, stupid, untolerable, and fatal to you!!!!
you are not chatting in website, no one care. if this is a letter to Chair,
committee, what a shame?!
for important letter, or post/article, better be very careful and prove-read
by a native spoken-E person.

谢谢各位。
提个问题，ps的问题有人考虑过么？
国际学生的ps要怎么写？写成故事？自传？还是中规中矩？侧重点是什么？我有多牛？
几会做研究？得了多少奖？还是我经历过一些什么事？为什么我现在才想起来学医？（
我本人一直认为这个问题最难回答）
如果都要谈，侧重点是什么？写的时候的风格是什么？小美的风格？还是老中的风格？
还是杂着来？
分数我觉得真的是其次，我个人觉得有时候大家太看重分数了，说实在的v9和v10有本
质区别么？ i doubt it。别人如果真的想要你，你v7也有人要。
我倒是觉得软条件这些比较难提高是真的，考试只是最在我们掌握的一方面，好好复习
就行了，其实不用搞得伤筋动骨。
就跟当年大家都发疯了一样学gre一样，其实过后想想根本没必要，还不如好好找个实
验室做实验，那玩意过线了就行了其实。

能找到办法做。比如premed course, shadow, clinical exposure甚至包括expand
knowledge或者leadership或者build up personality或者improve social skills，这
些其实外人根本给不了什么建议。
大家只能提醒你，你这个地方不足，你要改，具体怎么改只能自己去摸索。如果自己不
动手坐等别人来帮你纠正，那是在中国念小学念中学的路程。
我觉得很多人想的都是，这些那些材料背景我没有，那我怎么扬长避短。
我反倒觉得，长是一定要学着扬的，这也是我为什么觉得ps非常重要的原因，因为那是
个完全没有人干扰的展示自己的机会，我反倒想要知道这方面的信息。
至于那个短麽，我从来没想着，至少现在没有想着去避免。
很多人至少还有1-2年才申请或者面试或者别的什么，为啥从现在就开始想着避免这避
免那。我倒觉得现在正好是把短处都露出来的时候，就跟讲英文一样，现在菜讲出来被
人笑是为了以后不被人笑。我宁愿现在犯错误也不想等到时候犯错误kill | w********r

v9 and v10 would be the same, but v7 is totally different. it completely
limits your chance to most schools.
off course, if you have strong connection, your case might be different.

your verbal score? The only thing people can tell is to read more, to do
more exercises and to write more. What else?
Remember in the high skuls, people used exactly the same reference books,
were taught by exactly the same group of teachers, and did almost the same
amount of exercises. Why did their exam scores turn out to be totally
different? They could only figure out by themselves.

not a problem for them. However, they are many reference books for PS. I don
't know what to choose, but as long as we get to know the committee's taste,
we can try to do it.

发帖数: 5094 | 12 赫赫，好的PS是又creative，又conservative。好像是好莱坞的大片，看着很新鲜，但
又都是主旋律，不会犯界。如果自己拿捏不好建议请专业人士。我有朋友在新东方给别
人写本科材料，一封PS加３封推荐信，大概要写２～３个月。
