昨晚读了由SPRINGSTEP编辑的TEABAO-2009MATCH 经验总结, 很是感慨. 后生们的成熟
心智, 见多识广,让我这个老生(60后),自愧不如.真是长江后浪推前浪, 一代更比一代
强啊!
我要感谢MITBBS-MEDICAL CAREER BOARD, 从这个平台,通过阅读, 我已经吸收了很多好
的,有营养价值的”FOODs”. 这些优质的营养素,有助于心身的健康, 以防过早步入”
ALZHAIMER”的行列.为此, 我要感谢.
我是一个孤陋寡闻,井里望天的”FROG”, 成长的经历, 把我朔造成一个”谨小慎微”
的人. 我出生后不久,我父亲被送到了农场改造. 在我2-3岁时,我家受到了邻居,一个因
迫害而精神分裂的人的冲击. 我的童年是在这样的环境下度过的. WHILE BEING A
TEENAGE,我见证了我的哥姐们”上山下乡”.
改革开放,高考制度的改革,使我有幸来到美国.可不幸的是,不到二年的时间里,我被”
FAIR”二次.而且二个”BOSS”都是”CHINESE.被开除的一个原因是我过早泄露”考
BOARD”想法,他们需要一个百分之百把精力为他们工作的人.我能理解,不恨他们.但是,
谁又理解我的”难”. 不到两年,丢了二个”JOB",而且,我必须依靠自己在这里生存,依
靠自己解决”身份”问题. 一切的一切,没有经历过的人,是很难理解的.
有些好心人,建议我走捷径,“MARRY”一个有身份的,就不用”SUFFER”这么多了.尽管
自己算不上漂亮,但还是很自信拥有良好的”身材”和”气质".(不能上PP, 对不起).这
版上,已有人知道我是谁,我相信他/她们不会反对的. 我不需要”BSO”.
今年5-6月份,是我心情很烦躁一段时间,等緑卡,准备MATCH2011的申请材料,工作压力等
等. 多年的压抑和”STRESS",已影响了自己的身心健康. 偶然的机会,发现了MITBBS-
MEDICAL BOARD.于是发了自己的第一个主题贴-------坚持到底, 激流勇退?
几个月后的今天, 我又来到这里.现在,我已有了緑卡,也同现老板实话实说,得到了他的
支持.然而, 还是那句话”世间不如意事,十有八九".我的STEP1/2分数还拿出手,可是
1988年毕业, 收到的都是据信.但是,我无悔无怨,我已尽力了,我已做了自己能力所能做
的了.
我仍愿相信"'IF IT IS THE CALL FOR ME TO PRACTICE MEDICINE, I WILL GET IT NOW
MATTER HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE.”
希望我的故事没有浪费你的宝贵时间,我只想”GIVE BACK WHAT I HAVE GOTTEN.”,做
一些有益的事情.

发帖数: 3319 | 7 算了，回点正经的东西：班上很多鼓励人的故事其实非常误导人，就是那种毕业十几年
，fail好几次照样match上之类的，其实他们那些人背后都有很多了不起的成就，很难
模仿的。
不管自己多牛，都要尽量多找关系，多做OB， 多认识人，这样子拿到面试就容易一点
。然后面试再表现得好点就成功了。别总是想着凭实力硬闯。其实能建立起关系也很难

2014年医改生效（如果不被共和党否决的话），MATCH很多事情都可能会很不一样，在
RESIDENCY SLOT大幅增加（如果有的话）之前，难度肯定是越来越大的 | b****d

pros and cons, these encouraging stories are good for people who are not
confident on themselves, no one ask you to mimic what other peoples did, but
the take-home message from these stories is there IS an chance for everyone

Seriously, they did! One woman did her residency close to San Diego when
she was over 40 and now practices medicine. I thought huh, if she could do
it, I could 2. Her husband actually told me it is very hard, dont do it. I
thought her husband is a little selfish and ill-intentioned. After I knew
the inside-scoop how she got in, I understood her : husband was not kidding.

I had been an Internal Medicine physician in China since 1988. My mother was
dead of acute pericardial tamponade caused by the lung cancer in 1992, and
my father was dead of heart attack in 1995. These two family tragedy events
changed my path to pursue the higher Medical Eduation. I have been balmed on
myself for many years, even today, because I couldn't save my loved parents
' life as an cardiologist.
I recieved Master degree in 1996 and Ph.D degree in 2000.
By the way, I don't like you to call Chinese Boss as "中国土老板". I also
don't think you are super because you have been working with many "洋的白花
花的老板啊".
The post written by you only reflects that how shollow you are. You are too
ego.
No offence. I think I am doing good for you to make a comment honestly.

告诉我如果想呆在他实验室,想都别想考的事情.否则2周内自己走人.他的想法可以理解
,我付钱给你,你就得24-25小时/天给他干活(对不起,很多中国FACULTY都是这种疯狂的
想法,知道我们有很多事情还得靠他们).所以现在也是忍着.也不知道能忍到什么时候,
还得准备考试.压力挺大.不过看到版上的前浪和后浪都是这么过来的,虽然不同的经历,
但是都有同样一个梦想-自己的梦想(虽然版上有些人不能苟同我们的奋斗).心中就觉得

发帖数: 240 | 30 Every word I put down is from what I learned from real life conversations, or TVs/Movies or 12-grader level magazines such as people, Entertainment weekly, Time, not NYers, Simthsonian, National G types. I sent a list of words I collected to a lady here. It got schlep in it. She wrote back to me on the same day saying the doctor she shadowed used the word. True story, btw.
U r a smart guy, right? Has it occurred to you that for the sake of the flow of conversation, ur American friends would choose simpler words for you so that it wont be interrupted so often by your questions? Your English might be stalling because of it?
Be humble, and learn.

find it. Would you please make a plain explanation for me? If it is a dirty
word, please just stop doing anything here and let it be. But, you can PM

don't want to say here. What you thought and you wrote here has been

But, we are physicians. One of our responsibilities is to save life and cure
the disease. We can't neglect those people who is suffering with the mental
disease. Their suffering is also their family's suffering.
I am trying to find the way to help them to realize how serious problem they
have now. Help sick people to live a better life is one of our duties as a
physician.
I guess something is going wrong with her own life. As an independent lady,
I never think it is a smart thing to sell myself for cheap no matter for
what.
I was and will be standing straight on my own feet. I can do anything I like
to do and spend the money on the thing I enjoy. I don't need to feel sorry
not to spend the time with kids and never need to regret not to spend the
money on sending kids to the private school.
I make my own desicion and take responsible for my own life.
I am happy because I have the freedom to live the life I want to live.
