我愿意相信大家都希望我们CMG队伍能在北美壮大,提高我们的影响力. 有的人羡慕印巴
医生,希望有一天CMG也能象他们一样. 这反映了CMG们的一种愿望.
做为一个CMG,我们应该怎么做,才能把这一愿望变成现实.
我们需要的是团结,而不是内斗. 我们需要的是集思广益,多出主意, 想办法.而不是把
精力放在去证明谁比谁更”厉害”.
“有则改之, 无则加勉”"虚心使人进步,骄傲使人落后”这些都是有益的教诲.让我们
一起学习吧!

昨晚读了由SPRINGSTEP编辑的TEABAO-2009MATCH 经验总结, 很是感慨. 后生们的成熟心智, 见多识广,让我这个老生(60后),自愧不如.真是长江后浪推前浪, 一代更比一代强啊!
改革开放,高考制度的改革,使我有幸来到美国.可不幸的是,不到二年的时间里,我被”FAIR”二次.而且二个”BOSS”都是”CHINESE.被开除的一个原因是我过早泄露”考BOARD”想法,他们需要一个百分之百把精力为他们工作的人.我能理解,不恨他们.但是,谁又理解我的”难”. 不到两年,丢了二个”JOB",而且,我必须依靠自己在这里生存,依靠自己解决”身份”问题. 一切的一切,没有经历过的人,是很难理解的. | b****d

看到了你的报告,也被小石城拒了. 好同情啊.
我老了,拒我没说的,可连风华正茂,考试分数不错的年青人也拒. 这还是什么世道.
听说,十几年前,亚裔医生只要能拿到ECGMG-CERTIFERATE,不管你的考分多少,毕业年限
长短, PROGRAM都收,有的派专车到机场接哪.我有点不太相信,哪能那么容易呀? 可是,
人家跟我说:"你爱信不信,又不管我屁事." 只能叹息了,这个世界变化快,也不知信谁的
了.
哎, 我们是生不逢时呀! 一起努力吧!
好了,该休息了,明天还有活动哪.

program.我当时的分数是step-1, 78, step-2 84, had not taken step-3 yet. 那时
还是寄信申请，我一共寄出50 封申请信，全部是academic programs. 因那时有个说法
，很多美国毕业生反而愿意申请community hospital programs, 因较容易留在当地
private groups. 我当时一共受到11 个IVs. 我第一个IV 就在我本系，我在那里做了
几年research. 我当时就受到了prematch. 后来，我又去了另一个IV后，就决定
accepted the prematch in my department. 当然，其他九个地方的IVs 就都
cancelled.
At least two CMGs in my circle whom USMLE scores 不多不少，正好 were 75 in their both step-1 and step-2 (passing score at that time) got matched: one in family medicine, one in internal medicine. both in Northeast (NY) small programs. but they both went to top fellowship programs (such as john hopkins and WashU) after their residency training.
确实是今非昔比。那时，你要是两门在80, especially 85 and above, basically, you can choose any program.
我的经验是，不管什么时候，connection 还是挺重要的。

时间和情况都变了， 希望XDJM正视自己的实际情况， 选择自己正确的道路。
大家情况都不一样， 不要盲从， 特别是大龄CMG，你有家庭和孩子， 你输不起。
我本人就是个例子， 一言难尽。

1. Point to alternative careers as what MadDoc has been doing.
2. Get people off their baggage:
Try hard but prepare for the worst. The worst is as happy as everyone else. People are not any happier once they make over 75k/yr.
3. Very few of you could write any decent English here. I was willing to help.
4. And pour some cold water on some really hot heads who make arrogant
statements like Chinese physicians in the US are 'the elite of the elite' with insinuation that other CMGs are all USMLE washouts in addition to 'CMGs are superior to AMGs'.
5. I might have uttered the word 'douche bag' to some1 who refused the doctor's order of thyroid removal. I did it because all other doctors were playing nice. I thought a 'shock and awe' statement would wake her up. It was for her own sake. Bad choice of words with all good intention.
And this has pissed off MadDoc and his followers so badly that they have to go over board with their relentless cursing, swearing and scum after scum spitting.
Congratulations on your success, MadDoc, you have succeeded and are very successful in turning your followers into a bunch of arrogant, intolerant, foul-mouthed thugs.

these guys. I don't have CNS pepers, don't learn English so well. How can I
compete with those guys?
Study hard and work hard. Yes, the only way is to study hard and workhard.
It doesn't matter whose way is the best way or highway, the matter is the
way to take you to reach the place you do want to reach.
