很久以前,笔者的一个同事闲聊时问我在国内干病房还是干门诊, 我说,为什么
这么问? 同事答道,比较好的医生才能干病房(这些没有良心的病人早已把我们看扁
)。
本文不想讨论这种观点的对错, 只是由此引出本文的统计对象: 病房医生-
Hospitalist -(这是笔者的翻译,欢迎指正)。 Hospitalist 是一个相对新的职业,
人数由1995年占内科医生总人数的5.9%猛增到2006年的19%[1](够生猛的)。
在本数据库的统计中, CMG Hospitalist共为154人, 若是被CMG医生总数相除是
2.74%,但若被内科医生的总人数相除则为17%, 后者的算法显然更合理些, 并和AMG的
统计数据具有可比性。 由于80%的Hospitalists是内科医生,因此我们没有将其他专业
的Hospitalist包括进来。尽管CMG Hospitalist的比例稍低于AMG的19%(2006年的数据
,我没有见到2011年的,欢迎update!)。除去统计的误差,CMG Hospitalist 和AMG’s
相去不远, 说明在这点上CMG还不算太另类。
笔者有几个干Hospitalist的朋友,听上去他们还是很喜欢这个职业的。主要优点是工
作比较单纯,下班以后都是自己的时间。工作对象只是病房病人,不像有些坐办公室的
医生,每天面对候诊室满满的病人, 下班后有数不清的电话,回答不完的问题。
Hospitalist的工作时间根据不同单位有很大的不同,最吸引人的是每天工作十二小时
,每
周干七天,干一周,歇一周,爱玩的回趟中国都够了,爱挣钱的再找个第二工作。
Hospitalist的薪水平均为$180,000[2], 就所花的时间而言,薪水应该好于PCP
(挣钱就是王道)。对Hospitalist有一种比较负面的说法是Hospitalist是终生
的住院医, 显然这是一种调侃,不能当真,但有一点是真的,Hospitalist和住院医
终日厮守,单身Hospitalist要是想dating单身住院医绝对是是近水楼台。

off just like ED. the workloads are pretty intense in most places; the
reason they look for hospitalists.
they are different types of "hospitalist", different types of working hours
but mainly 7~10 days 12-hour shifts required. it has pros/cons, depending on
what you prefer.
what you said are correct; the only reason I am replying you post is
regarding your Chinese translation
"病房医生= Hospitalist". something is missing; it sounds same as
"助理教授=Assistant Professor",
we know this is not same. maybe someone would come up better ones. |

his patients by the others. He always say how can you be a doctor without
on call? He sometimes stay in hospital over night for his inpatient and
see outpatient second day. He even fallen asleep during the patient visit.
Patient called him with gentle voice "..... Doctor? .... Doctor? .. are
you OK"? No joking, that is true story, it's telling us how important the
hospitalists are. |
