are going. But whatever the reason is, there are already opportunities for
old CMG.

1. AAMC認可的醫學院數目到2008年前都一直是穩定的140~145。2008後有十幾所新醫學
院開始申請成立，但被核准的不多，增加新招人樹有限。Allopathic Schools申請人數
由1996年的高峰持續降到2002年才開始再次上升。但錄取人數在最近十幾年左右全都在
15K~16.5K附近穩定成長。你聽來的12K這個數字是至少三十年前的陳年往事了。
2. 2014年Match結果四月就在NRMP官網張貼，沒你說的400個AMG失敗這件事，真正數字

A. 2014年US Allopathic畢業班共有17,374人申請，16,399Matched，仍有975人失敗。
NRMP沒有提供Scrmable成功或失敗的數據，但根據Unfilled的Match Spots，這975人該
有30%的人今年仍可成為Intern。別忘了NRMP不管的San Francisco Match已經吸收了幾
百個Allopathic畢業生，進一步降低Allopathic應屆畢業生Match失敗的比例。
B. 非2014年US Allopathic畢業班申請人有1,662人，有88人申請後撤銷。只有789人
Matched，失敗率高達52%。
C. 另外有2,738個DO畢業班試圖申請ACGME的PGY-1，光是失敗率就有22.3%，另外有892
人撤銷。表示DO雖也具一定競爭力，卻遠不及MD。
由此可見，AMG也分369等，如B和C這些競爭力原先就弱的人在Match不成當然是最大的

failed his main Match which was dermatology only, but through SOAP he got
into a path pg. In this sense, unmatched AMG rate could be pretty low after
SOAP if they are not extremely picky. |
