2，感染性或脱髓鞘性病变：如：多发性硬化MS，神经脱髓鞘性变，Lyme disease。
3,肿瘤性病变：如：小细胞肺癌产生的paraneoplastic syndrome-Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrom.
4,自身免疫性疾病：myasthenia gravis.

He was not able to close both eyes.
2 weeks ago, the patient had a fever blisters(see the pic). 3 days after
the fever blisters, he developped pain behind left ear. Subsequently he
found his eye problems, facial weakness, and taste loss, and hyperacusis on
the left.
These are typical symptoms of Bell's Palsy.

Bell's palsy is NOT idiopathic, but a viral event triggered autoimmune
process. Why only facial nerve? We need to ask Herpes virus: why you like

tonsilar carcinoma病史的，发现是残留的肿瘤细胞沿着facial nerve转移到颅内。
如果大家体检和推断都象你那么强，一下子叫出答案来，没有影像什么事，我就得上街

记得Kaplan的老师说看到bilateral Bell's palsy可能要想到lyme disease,因为
bilateral Bell's palsy还是比较少见的 。

。但单侧时很容易区分， 因为有对侧对照。
这个例子让我觉得bell’s palsy跟病毒感染的关系是间接的， autoimmune是病因。
就是感染在先， 反应在后。 否则一侧的感染不会引起双侧病变。 这个病人的症状在
左侧， 但他的palsy右侧显得更重。
为什么autoimmune只损害面神经？为什么只有1%是双侧？ 有待版上牛人解答。
