In '08, Kroger had 50c off per gallon on E85 when the gas price was about 1.
6-1.8. I filled many tanks of E85 to my car. The first time after filling
it, the check engine light was on, but it went off after continuous filling
the tank with E85 and never back again.
When I filled gasoline, the car can drive 450-480 miles. When I fill E85,
it will drive about 350 miles, pure high way. Perhaps the heat content is
better than 2/3.

partially oxidized (partially "burnt") already: ethanl C2H7O, gasoline CxHy;
thus less milage per gallon.
2. Also it produces more CO2 per BTU, but the CO2 is recycled (no absolute
increase of CO2 in the air at the first observation); while burning gasoline
will increase NET CO2 in the air
3. After more careful examination, 2 is not true because you need fossil
fuel (ie carbon deposit in the ground) to produce the ethanol. For example,
you need petroleum to make fertilizer and other chemicals, you need energy
to farm, to harvest, to convert corn to ethanol...
At the end of the day, you burn the oil to make barely enough ethanol.
Those biorenewable fuels only make sense when they are produced without the
use of fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, petrolum), which is only be possible
when the energy human being used are purely nuclear or solar.
This is the ultimate revelation of so-called biofuel.

不过，话说回来了，三闾奶粉，地沟油都吃了，其他毒物国人更是轻松耐受
