Workshops and dance social will take place in the College Avenue Gym January
28, 2012.
Workshops, 5:30 – 7:30pm.
Attend with or without a partner. We use a rotation system.
1. Dances for Special Occasions: Salsa and Waltz Basics (NO experience
required.) in Upper Gym. Instructor: Carmen Valverde
2. Samba Workshop for Experienced Dancers in Main Gym. Instructor:
Brian Nash (Prior skills in dancing Samba are NOT required. Mastery of
leading or following in waltz, cha-cha, or Foxtrot is required.)
Register at http://recreation.rutgers.edu/classes or pay at door: $8 for RU students with ID, $15 without RU student ID
Ballroom Dance social: 8:00pm to 11:30pm.
Brian Nash, founder and head coach of the Rutgers Ballroom Dance Team, will
play music for general ballroom dancing on the 4,500 square foot floor of
the Main Gym.
Pay at door: $5 for RU students with ID, $15 without RU student ID
(Combined admission to workshop and social is $25, or $13 with RU student ID)
Attend with or without a partner. Proper semi-formal attire is requested (no
jeans, tee shirts, sneakers, or flip flops).
