另,以前在本版看到过一个面试问题和答案转贴(英文),其中一题why did you want
to be a nurse?
Hospitals have conceded that to be successful in the very competitive
healthcare market, that they have to behave like any hotel or other
hospitality business and cater to what people want. Many have gone as far
and studied what works at Disneyland to please the public. The take home
message is that you need to play up any customer service work that you've
done in the past. It's the little things that add up to make for a great
patient experience and with that, repeat business. Skills can be learned by
anyone, and certainly having them in your back pocket is a big help, but
what will set you apart from the other applicants is how you treat your
patients/customers. THAT is the healthcare of today and tomorrow. It's the
big smile that will open doors for you today. "WHat can I do for you?" "Can
I help you?" "That's not my job" is not in your vocabulary.
With that being said, you've demonstrated mastery of lots of technical
skills above, but now try to combine some of those to make room for more '
personalized' care, relationship building with your patients and their
families. Did you do anything to help teach them about their tests? Help
them with a smooth transfer home? Give back rubs? Keep their room quiet?
Bring them their favorite foods? Take the time to sit down and talk with
them? Always greet them with a big smile and ask them "How are you today?"
before checking the IV pumps?
Show them that not only are you a great nurse technically, but also that you
're a great person as well and that you treat your patients with that
something EXTRA that puts their worried minds at ease. THAT sort of thing on
your resume will set you apart.
I've interviewed at a number of hospitals in the past year, and THAT is what
they are all looking for, and they will pay you handsomely for it.
