1) every year there are limited intern opportunities. Most candidates are BS
/MS students, but sometimes PhD students apply as well. the deadline
generally is March. Most companies have similar deadline. This will be a
good way to get a sense of what the Biopharm industry is doing. I encourage
PhD student to apply, not just doing thesis work in the summer.
2) some contractor opportunities. generally need to be filled in a month
because of urgent project needs. People with green card preferred. but
someone with temporary working permits can be considered too. sometimes,
contracting firm sponsors H1 visa. I have seen many Indian students in the
pool of resume and therefore being selected. I encourage Chinese students
should consider this as well. This is a good way to get into the industry
and gain some industry experience
3) very limited phd entry level scientist/engineer positions. H1 visa can be
sponsored but not preferred. comprehensive interview will be conducted,
candidate with good education in Chemical engineering with relevant thesis
work will be preferred.

I will try to influence the HMs in my group to consider 同胞. But overall,
hiring decision is a team decision, and only one candidate will be selected.
So be prepared for not being selected.
Remember both technical and soft skills are very important. In particular
communication skill. Please practice and improve that skill.

there are some videos in youtube you can watch.
Here is a series of videos, a little bit more academic but good to start
with. There are some presentation given by industry professionals. However,
the topic might be too specific.
