and note that you are represented by this firm.
I honestly don't think they could talk to the hiring manager.

openings are just some kind of white lie? the fact is that GS will take
every right candidate in whether or not an opening does exist. So every
recruiter could claim he has openings at GS,so does at Two Sigma, at D.E.
Shaw.
They do send you in and talk to somebody at rare occasions, but not the
hiring manager.
hiring coordinator at GS reviews many many resumes everyday, they only
slightly better than the common HR people in other firms.
