Duties:
Design, develop and implement statistical modeling and image processing
algorithms in support of next generation sequencing platform. This
individual will contribute to the development of models of physical
processes, instrument characteristics, and algorithmic software that
implements novel methods of statistical modeling and image processing.
Skills:
Image processing and statistical modeling skills are essential. Software
engineering experience must include 3+ years of programming in C++ and
analysis of physical measurement data. Strong pluses include experience with
MATLAB, Python, Boost, and high performance computing in GPU. Experience
building software systems for data management, automated analysis, and data
mining is highly desirable. Strong candidates will be responsible, self-
motivated, effective at describing their work to a technically sophisticated
audience, and capable of working independently and delivering commercial-
quality software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and
proficiency with English are required. Preference is given to candidates
with knowledge in biotechnology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and DNA
sequencing.
Education:
MS/PhD in physical science or engineering.
