上班，附近有什么好的区域适合居住？Berkeley?发了信，人家都不回，还有没有？

have a family and need to rent a house, you can try heron bay in san leandro

I personally don't like Emeryville that much so I will give you a few
options in Oakland:
1. Piedmont
2. Rockridge/monclaire area
3. Lake Merritt
4. Oakland Hills
They are all good IMO. They all can be expensive however especially if the building is relatively new. If you are a young single professional, I would choose from the first three options. Oakland hills is more like family based. Oakland is a fun town but it's only for people who loves diversities and enjoy different interactions with people from different cultures. If you are looking for a place that you want to hang out mostly with Chinese, then Oakland is not a good option for you.
I actually lived in Oakland downtown area, which to me is not a very safe
place, but I have seen people walking around with kids and peds after dark
and the fact that I had been alright living there myself, so I guess it all depends on your luck. I don't like old houses/apartments therefore I chose Oakland downtown at that time as it offers a few new buildings, plus it's close to where I worked. Where I stayed is a pretty new building with a lot of facilities inside. It's actually designed as condominiums but some owners do rent their investment out. Many professionals who commute to the city live there. It's called "market place". Here is a link just as an example:

少了，这里one bedroom的apartment都要至少1500-1600。省钱的最好法子是跟人合租
，有些很新的condo，多上craiglist上搜搜！建议在bay street和public market附近
，或者powell海边那一片，制安比较好，40街附近那里最好别去。
我就在emeryville上班，之前跟人分租挺好的，走路10分钟就到公司了。
不过分租的话人家都是要先见人的，你可以上班之前提前一点儿过来，借住朋友家1-
2weeks或者干脆住hotel，然后尽快找！我对这一带挺熟的，有问题可以站内联系。 |
