"We're going to raise our voices against the root causes of this kind of
tragedy" OK. Start with families without fathers; the dropout rate; the role
models that only include athletes, rappers, and militants; drug abuse; get
rich quick mentality; emphasis on having STUFF; chronic victimhood; lack of
self determination; lack of individualism; defeatist mentality. This country
has so many advantages for minority youths if they would DUMP the whole
angry oppressed attitude and start thinking along the lines of 'I WILL do
that I need to do to get ahead". And never mind the girlfriend/boyfriend,
the machismo, the homies, the glitz, the fashion and the posturing (and yes
they will lose some so-called friends); and but focus on learning, working,
self worth, personal accomplishment, and earning ... they will enjoy the
feeling of independence and satisfaction that comes with it. This is true
for everyone, but some people including minorities have made themselves into
the image of what SOMEONE ELSE thinks they should be until they begin to
define who they are BY THEMSELVES they will continue to feel left behind.

Funny how some folks cry for "justice" but when you give it to them with a
jury trial it's still not justice to them unless it turns out the way the
wanted it. Justice IS having your day in court regardless of the jury
finding. Our legal system certainly is not perfect but it about the best of
anything else available as known to man in a civilized country. | M*********n
