3.6 magnitude quake rattles eastern SD County

SAN DIEGO—A moderate earthquake has rattled eastern San Diego County but
there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 3.6 quake struck south of
the border at 12:01 p.m., about 30 miles south-southeast of Mexicali.
A sheriff's dispatcher says there have been no calls about the earthquake
about 110 miles east of San Diego.
The Imperial Valley region has been shaken frequently since a magnitude
7.2 earthquake struck just south of the border in Mexicali on Easter
Sunday last year, killing two people in Mexico and causing widespread
damage. |
