有分析人士指出，在Adobe宣布放弃开发移动版Flash之后，微软(微博)最终也可能放弃
开发Silverlight。
Adobe周三宣布，将不再为移动浏览器开发Flash Player，公司未来的发展方向是
桌面浏览器、移动应用和HTML5。
对此有分析人士称，Adobe转向HTML5可能迫使微软放弃Silverlight富媒体平台，
转而集中开发HTML5。微软于2007年推出Silverlight，旨在挑战Flash，但并未取得太
大成功。
Silverlight 5将于本月晚些时候推出，除了微软自己的IE浏览器，目前还不清楚
是否支持其他浏览器。而Silverlight 6是否有机会面世还是个未知数。有知情人士称
，Silverlight 5正式版仅支持IE，并不支持Mac OS平台或其他任何浏览器。
最初，微软曾努力将Silverlight集成到自己产品中，如Zune HD、Windows Phone
和Xbox 360等设备中。但由于Silverlight并未达到预期目标，微软有些泄气，并缩减
了Silverlight团队规模。
分析人士还称，微软停止开发Silverlight后，所使用的XAML标记语言、 C#、VB和
.NET编程语言等技术将继续沿用。
对此，微软发言人称：“Silverlight 5 RTW(ready to web，正式版)将按期发布
，至于未来版本目前还没有相关消息发布 |

好像在中国捧SL的人不少，现在还抱着很大的幻想呢，说什么微软一定是一个负责任的
公司，不会放下他们不管的。

Joke. Have you ever been to the MIX conferences? SL was always the top
subject until being back-stabbed by Sinofsky. Pushing SL off with WinRT
is gonna piss a lot Enterprise developers off.

the ones at MSCC I mentioned are usually targeted to local
people. maybe the people in Redmond area know the internal
politics better not to invest in SL?

C++ is a junk language that cannot even be refactored. It has no use
outside the system level arena. People in the enterprise world simply
ignore it.

C++ is used when performance is your only concern. In the enterprise
world where the extensibility and maintainability of large distributed
systems are more important no one uses C++. It's either Java or .Net

Wrong. C# allows developers to write robust and less error-prone code
in shorter time than C++ which is why it's far more popular among the
developers.
MSFT on one hand is envy that Apple has a loyal fan base of followers
and yet on the other hand lets this backstabber Sinofsky destroy the
the loyal fan base of SL. It cannot get any more stupid than that.

websites you visit daily are coded in C# .Net. And you think they are
not popular?

Aspx websites are as fast as other website. You are in total denial now.
The truth is no developer writes pure desktop apps any more b/c it's
too saturated a market. People always go web, go online, and that's the
end of C++ story since no one does C++ for web apps.

You have to use ObjectiveC in iOS. These mobile platforms all have own
frameworks.

After Java and C# came out, C++ became oblivious in the web or cloud world.
But it is still a decent language for back end. And C++'s market share is
still higher than C# as of now even though its usage has been declining for
years.
